DATA EXCHANGE FOR FM
Cobie is an Acronym for Construction Operations Building Information Exchange (COBie) is a global standard for data exchange of building information models (BIM)focused on delivering asset data. Its presented in a clear and simple format, in XML spreadsheet file, where the key information is dragged into one format and shared among the construction crew at distinct stages in a project. COBie share the best industry practices with the open IFC data model format and the coordination view for processes like clash detection, making the integration between design and construction tools and process easier. The big benefit of COBie is the support in both authoring tools and in Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) & Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The course is divided in one or four days, in the first day an overview and basic
understanding is presented. The following days will cover how to create 100% correct COBie design files, correctly formatted, and ready to be integrated into CMMS & CAFM systems (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems and Computer Aided Facilities Management Systems).
